Our first two days in the “NEW LHS.”

Hello,

I wanted to give you an update on our first two days in the “NEW LHS.”

We ran our Bengal Connections Day yesterday where both our students and staff started to learn our new campus.  This will be an ongoing process and we are learning more and more each day.

Our staff and students are excited to be back after the long layoff.  We all want to stay in this great facility with face to face instruction.  Our students have been doing an amazing job of wearing masks during the transition time.  I would like to see the improvement of mask-wearing in the classroom when physical distancing cannot be obtained.  We will continue to strongly encourage our students to wear their masks in the classroom to keep our students and staff safe.

We are working out many details as we learn our new campus.  Traffic flow is a concern and we are working to make it more efficient.  Our main concern with traffic flow is at dismissal time.  I am asking that parents who are picking up their son or daughter after school, use the loading zone starting at the south end of the tennis courts and wrapping around to the end of the yellow line outside of the auditorium.  After two dismissals, we are finding that traffic flow is much smoother leaving the route to the round-a-bout on Warner Ave.  We are going to ask and guide traffic out of the main student parking area to depart via Warner Ave.

I will try to put out more information as we learn about our new setting.  What we all know at this time, is that we are in a great, state of the art facility.  We are very proud to be Bengals!!!!
