End of First Semester
Jenifer Middle School Families;
We are down to the last two weeks of the semester. Students will be bringing home their final progress report for the semester today. Check it over, ask questions, set up a plan for a successful end of the semester. If you need assistance with this plan, please contact your child’s teacher(s).
Semester final exams and projects are scheduled for next week. Ask your child when or if they have a final exam for any of their classes. Feel free to contact teachers for specific dates.
Exciting times for student learning through mobile technology. Starting this week, all students at Jenifer Middle School have been assigned an iPad for use during the day in all their classes. They have been given a device form in which they have signed and needs your signature as well. The iPad is similar to any text book which has been assigned to your child, they are responsible for taking care of the devices and making sure it is used appropriately and stored at the end of each day.
Thank you to all our families for helping us stay in Green. We continue to keep our school as safe as possible and continue a positive learning environment through working together.

Our Annual Winter Spirit Week: December 14- December 18

Wednesday: Winter Christmas Day
Thursday: Squad Day
Friday: Ugly Sweater Day
One to One Mobile Devices:
Over the past several years, we have implemented a robust mobile technology opportunity for our students and staff. We have now reached the next milestone in this program. Providing students the ability to manage their own device during the school day. The school will assign students their own device, which allows them to check out their device each morning, carry it with them to each class, and check it in to charge before they leave for the day. While we are not currently sending the devices home, students will have access to their iPad for every class.
Look for the paperwork to come home between now and the end of January.
Thank you for all you do to help us help your child be successful in their learning and have a positive learning environment.

Happy Thanksgiving Jenifer Families.
With Thanksgiving this week and the Holiday season upon us I would like to say how thankful I am to work with amazing people every day. Jenifer students and staff have stepped up to the challenges of the new school year.
We have in our main entry a Kindness tree that has leaves of kindness acts written by staff and students. Today we start our Ornaments of Appreciation. Below you will find a link for you to complete, will every entry we will create an ornament to add to our tree.
Write a note to your child here at Jenifer, write a thank you to a staff member, write a holiday message, the idea is to fill our tree with the positive that are happening around us.

JMS Parents, Students and Staff;
We have successfully made it through the first quarter of 2020-21 school year. Although we have had some challenges, we have been able to create a positive supportive learning environment for our students. This environment is created by parents supporting what we are doing at school, students doing their best every day, and staff members working to provide learning opportunities that engage student and enhance their content standards.
We do have conferences this coming week and if you have not already heard from one of your child’s teachers you will soon. There are different types of conferences happening on Wednesday and Thursday:
Student-led at home,
Student-led here at JMS,
Student-led through a virtual meeting.
If you have not heard from a teacher by Tuesday please call the school at 208-748-3300.
Remember, there is no school on Friday, November 6th.
Thank you to all for making this a successful quarter!
I am looking forward to second quarter and continuing our learning journey.
JoAnne
