TESLA: Science Notebooks

Teaching for Excellence in Science and Literacy Achievement

In 2007 the TESLA project was approved and awarded funding as a Math Science Partnership Grant (MSP) from the Idaho State Department of Education. For three years beginning in the summer of 2007, the focus of the project was working with intermediate elementary teachers grades 4-6. In the spring of 2010, the TESLA project was awarded three more years of funding to focus on elementary teachers working with students in grades 2-3.

TESLA’s goal is to develop a cadre of teachers who are highly competent in science content and can effectively implement science teaching activities using current best practices that will lead to meaningful student learning and increased student achievement.
