The Lewiston School District adopted Bookshop by Mondo Publishing in the spring of 2011 for grades K-5. This adoption represents a commitment to a balanced literacy program, providing instructional resources to support a reading workshop approach. Bookshop is the core program for reading instruction, and as such, is taught in all K-5 classrooms.
The Lewiston School District believes all students can learn at high levels and that a skillful, knowledgeable, and caring teacher has the greatest impact on that learning. Successful implementation of balanced literacy requires a commitment from teachers with the support of district resources.
