District employees are covered by workers’ compensation insurance with the full cost borne by the District.
This insurance provides for compensation in cases of injury or death sustained in the course of employment, including official travel status. Medical expenses incurred due to injury and a potion of income lost due to disability are covered by this insurance.
Employees who are injured on the job, are asked to report the injury as soon as possible to the business office. Claims may be denied if not reported in a timely manner.
