Summer learning students put their engineering skills to the test with a hands-on bridge-building STEM project! Each bridge was tested to its limit (until it broke or they ran out of weights). The winning design held nearly 100 pounds and never broke!
Special thanks to Dutch Bros LC Valley and Java Stop for donating gift cards as prizes; your support truly motivated our students and made the challenge even more exciting!

Towards the end of the school year, Lewiston High School staff held an “Underground Spirit Week,” featuring a different dress-up theme each day that was kept a secret from students!

In May, students from Lewiston and Tammany High Schools attended the GRIT Conference at Lewis-Clark State College and Walla Walla Community College to explore hands-on careers in the trades.

GRIT—Girls Rising in Trades—is a partnership between YWCA Lewiston-Clarkston, LCSC, and WWCC. The program empowers young women in grades 9–12 to discover non-traditional career paths through hands-on workshops and mentorship.

These students left feeling inspired and ready to take on new challenges!

Middle School Summer School students put their design and engineering skills to the test in an exciting egg drop competition. Some eggs survived, others didn’t—but all students practiced critical thinking and problem-solving throughout the challenge. A big thank you to Mrs. Kolb for bravely going up 100 feet in the bucket to drop the eggs, and to the Lewiston Fire Department for volunteering their time to make this an unforgettable hands-on learning experience.

McSorley Elementary students saved up their Tiger BEST tickets, which they earn for doing their “BEST” every single day. When a staff member sees a student showing their Tiger BEST, they give the student a ticket. Students saved up their tickets for a chance to pie a teacher in the face... and they chose their principal, Mr. Kronemann!
