Jenifer Middle School students had the opportunity to experience a day in the life of a college student during a hands-on tour of Lewis-Clark State College.
Throughout the day, students participated in a variety of engaging and interactive activities. They made gummy worms in the chemistry lab, explored human anatomy through a virtual cadaver, played board games in Spanish, created and presented their own business ideas, experimented with salt in the culinary arts department, and listened to heartbeats with stethoscopes. Students also toured the diesel, auto body, and welding departments, gaining insight into a wide range of career pathways.
To wrap up a great day they caught the end of an LCSC Warrior Baseball game!

Sacajawea Middle School Lewiston Battle of the Books (LBOB) teams have been working hard!

K-5 students at Orchards Elementary shared their writing with our school board. Orchards staff, through the Guiding Coalition, aligned writing checklists vertically by looking at proficient writing samples and creating checklists based on those proficiency levels. Students were then able to explain how they use those checklists to revise their writing and have peers edit and revise as well, deepening their writing.

Testing begins this month and to kick it off Whitman Elementary did a Rock the Test Assembly with the theme of Masked Singer. Teachers discussed test taking strategies, dressed up in rock and roll gear, participated as a Masked Singer, and played/sang on blow up microphones and guitars. It ended with a glow dance party to glow and grow on the test!

For their reading celebration, Orchard's third-grade reading groups learned how ice cream is made in large quantities. They then transformed themselves into ice cream machines and created their own ice cream! When asked how it turned out, some responses included, "better than McDonald's" and "the best I've ever had!"
Keep up the great work, third graders!
