Sexual Misconduct: Know Your Rights

What is Title IX?
Title IX is a federal law that protects students and staff from sexual
misconduct and discrimination in educational programs and employment.

Title IX protections apply regardless of:

  • Gender

  • Sexual orientation

  • Gender identity

  • Gender expression

You have the right to be free from:

  • Unequal treatment in educational programs or employment

  • Sexual harassment, including unwelcome sexual advances, stalking, or harassment on social media

  • Sexual violence, including sexual assault, dating violence, or domestic violence.

Report a Concern
The Independent School District is committed to maintaining a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning and working environment for all students and staff. If you have experienced or witnessed discrimination, harassment, or misconduct based on sex, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression, we encourage you to report your concern. This page provides information about Title IX protections, reporting options, and resources available to support individuals and address concerns promptly and appropriately.

To report a potential Title IX concern or ask questions, please contact your building administrator, human resources department or the District’s Title IX Coordinator.
