Lewiston High School has officially established its Future Farmers of America (FFA) chapter, marking an exciting new opportunity for students and the district’s Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs. The chapter’s charter was signed at the Idaho FFA State Leadership Conference in Twin Falls, Idaho.

The creation of an FFA chapter at Lewiston High School represents a significant step forward in expanding agricultural education and leadership opportunities for students. FFA is a nationally recognized organization dedicated to developing students’ potential for leadership, personal growth, and career success through agricultural education.

Gabby Johnson, FFA advisor at Lewiston High School, reflected on the importance of the moment.

“Being part of this moment means these students are the generation building this from the ground up. With the support of our school and community, it matters. We’re not just joining a national organization, we’re creating it in Lewiston. I am proud and grateful to start this chapter and lay the foundation for those who come next.”

Superintendent Tim Sperber emphasized the impact the program will have on students and the district.

“FFA is an incredible program that builds not only future farmers, but future leaders. By adding an agriculture program, we are enhancing an already top-notch CTE program.”

The addition of FFA at Lewiston High School strengthens the district’s commitment to providing diverse, hands-on learning opportunities that prepare students for future careers and leadership roles. Students involved in the program will gain real-world experience in agriculture, develop leadership skills, and connect with industry opportunities.

Lewiston School District remains committed to ensuring high levels of learning for all students by expanding programs that meet the needs of both students and the community.

Lewiston High School Nez Perce Language students had a unique hands-on learning experience as they explored Nez Perce material culture through traditional weaving.

Danielle Bohn Scott, from the University of Idaho’s Nez Perce Reservation Extension 4-H Program, along with Gracie Broncheau, visited classes to teach students how to create Nez Perce-style woven flat bags. This meaningful experience gave students the opportunity to connect language learning with culture in a real and engaging way.

Thank you to Danielle and Gracie for sharing your time, knowledge, and expertise with our students.
