ESP are district employees who are not certified teachers. These employees are important staff members who provide a critical and necessary support function. That person may be the maintenance worker who carefully maintains the buildings, the instructional assistant who positively impacts student lives, the bus driver who keeps students safe and greets them with a friendly face, the cafeteria worker who happily serves students their breakfast and lunch, the librarian who helps students and staff members check books out and find resources necessary for class, or the secretary who skillfully functions as the hub of their department or building.
