Dear McGhee Families,

Welcome to the second semester! It’s hard to believe we are already halfway through the school year. Thank you for your continued support and partnership—it has been incredible to see how much our students have grown. We can’t wait to see all they accomplish in the months ahead!

Here are a few important reminders as we begin the new semester:

School Hours & Breakfast

School begins at 9:00 a.m., and breakfast is served from 8:30–8:55 a.m. Please note that we do not have supervision prior to 8:30 a.m., so students should not arrive before that time. All students who arrive for breakfast during the serving window will have the opportunity to eat.

Closed Campus Reminder

McGhee is a Closed Campus. This means our park, playground, and campus are closed to visitors until 4:00 p.m. This policy ensures that students safely make it to their buses or are picked up by guardians before we reopen the park to students, families, and the community at large. Thank you for helping us maintain a safe and secure environment for all students.

Drop-Off and Pick-Up Procedures

When dropping off or picking up your student, please make sure handicap parking spaces remain unblocked and accessible for families who need them. Your cooperation helps keep pick-up and drop-off safe and smooth for everyone.

Teacher of the Year Nominations

The Lewiston School District is currently accepting nominations for Teacher of the Year! We have many amazing educators here at McGhee, and we would love to see them recognized. Nomination forms are available in the front office or can be submitted online at: https://www.lewistonschools.net/article/2618420

McGhee Shirt Wednesdays

Let’s show some school spirit!  Please plan on having your child wear school colors or a McGhee shirt each Wednesday for our school spirit day—it’s so fun to see our students showing their McGhee pride together!

Phones and Smartwatches

As a reminder, phones and smartwatches should be turned off and stored in backpacks or lockers as soon as students enter the building. They should remain there until the end of the school day.

Thank you for helping us create a safe, respectful, and positive environment for every student at McGhee. We look forward to another great semester together!

Warm regards,
