Jenifer Middle School • Band & Choir Teacher
Some teachers teach a subject.
But some teachers teach so much more.
At Jenifer Middle School, there’s a teacher who doesn’t just fill her room with music—
she fills it with joy, encouragement,
and the kind of support that can turn an entire day around.
Her students say she makes class fun.
That she’s positive, uplifting, and always ready to brighten someone’s world.
If a student feels overwhelmed—she notices.
If a friend is having a bad day—she makes space for them to breathe, to talk, to feel safe.
She’s the one who gets up early (yes, early!) to lead Jazz Band.
She’s the one who takes a budget that’s too small,
resources that are too few,
and still builds a music program that inspires and connects students to something bigger than themselves.
In her classroom, kids don’t just learn the notes—
they feel the music.
They share it.
They love it.
Her students call her “the best teacher in the world.”
And today, we proudly call her…
Amy McLean—Lewiston School District’s 2025–2026 Secondary Teacher of the Year!

Sacajawea and Jenifer Middle School WEB (Where Everybody Belongs) leaders have been hard at work! This week, 8th grade leaders spent two full days training with WEB program coordinators to get ready for 6th grade orientation. WEB is a middle school transition program that empowers positive student leaders to welcome and mentor incoming 6th graders. Through team-building activities, mentoring, and fun events, our WEB leaders will help create a safe, supportive, and connected start to middle school for all students. We can’t wait to see these leaders in action tomorrow!

Tomorrow, Friday, August 15, is late registration from 8:00–11:00 AM and 12:00–3:00 PM.

Tomorrow is the day!

They were grateful for the learning opportunity and for the donated boards they used to build their birdhouses.
Thank you, Idaho Forest Group, for supporting education!
