These former Centennial Elementary students are now graduates of Lewiston High School! Can you believe it? Some teachers at Centennial remember them as young children, with only recess and lunch on their minds. Mrs. Dominy, Mrs. Stroupe, Mrs. Thomasson, Mrs. Reynolds, and Mrs. Gilliam—just to name a few—taught these students and now witness their transformation into responsible and valuable citizens who will lead the world. Time certainly flies when you're embracing life!
These students are about to embark on new adventures, with some heading in different directions while others plant roots in the beautiful Lewis & Clark Valley. As former Rams, they spent their formative years dreaming of their futures, and it’s exciting to think about where they might land. I couldn't help but think of their parents as they all set off to conquer the world.
While conversing with these young people, I noticed the smiles and exhilaration that come with leaving childhood behind for bigger and possibly brighter opportunities. Just hearing about their journeys sends chills down my spine, reminding me of my own experiences many years ago. Several are attending the University of Idaho, while a few are pursuing careers in teaching, and others are heading out of state to Washington State and the University of Montana.
The young men are enrolling in trade schools to become electricians, and one is training to be a mechanic. When I asked if anyone had aspirations to join the military, one graduate eagerly exclaimed, “Yes! A Marine!” She was filled with enthusiasm and ready to take on the challenge.
To be young again! Thank you, young people, for showing us that our future is indeed in good hands.**
