Let’s Dive Into This!
It was time for everyone’s beloved challenge game show… SURVIVOR! During our Centennial Elementary Teacher Appreciation Week, Principal Courtney Kolb introduced the staff to this exhilarating game show called “Survivor.” And don’t fret, nobody was kicked off the island and sent home! Oh, the irony of that being a prize, right? Each participant was given the chance to spin the wheel once a day to earn points and prizes! Every day featured exciting prizes on the wheel, along with a BIG PRIZE! If you landed on one of those, you would collect your winnings. At the week’s end, we had a GRAND PRIZE for the participant who accumulated the most points throughout the game.
One of the challenges involved calling our Lewiston Mayor, Dan Johnson, to invite him to our school to spin the wheel. Guess what... he accepted! The Mayor even displayed his creative flair by decorating a chair (picture not included).
There were plenty of enjoyable challenges, such as writing anonymous compliments and thank-you notes, wearing fun headgear or a grass skirt for the week, and even dancing the Macarena down the hallway to earn points.
Our winners included Lindsey Reynolds, our 4th-grade teacher, who received a Gift Certificate for a Family Mini Photo Session—definitely a reason to smile! Ami Farrington, our Special Education teacher, secured 2nd place, while Nicola, our 2nd-grade teacher, took home 3rd place, with both receiving beautiful Summer Bags.
The rest of the staff enjoyed a giant bag of laughter!
