Orchards Elementary third graders had the chance to learn braille today with the help of Cynda Hyndman and Gayle Worthington. It was an amazing hands-on look at another way people communicate, and such a powerful real-life learning experience for students. We are grateful that students in our district get opportunities like this!

Meet Pumpkin Jack!
🌟 Hands-on science at Orchards Elementary! 🌟

Intermediate students have been exploring energy conversions by building pizza box solar ovens, creating wind turbines that light up LEDs, and experimenting with dry ice during a celebration activity.

Primary students are studying animal defenses with some new class pets, Madagascar hissing cockroaches! 🪳 The brave ones love holding them while learning how these insects stay safe in the wild.

Learning by doing makes science unforgettable at Orchards Elementary!

The Lewiston School District Indian Education Program & The Nez Perce Tribe would like to invite the community to the Spokane Ensemble Theatre production of "According to Coyote" by John Kauffman, in partnership with Red Eagle Soaring. This production, featuring Coyote, the legendary hero of American Indian mythology, is an encounter with the richness and vitality of Native American culture using age-old traditions of music, dance, and theatre. Directed by the playwright’s niece, Josephine Keefe, and performed by Nez Perce actor, Kellen Trenal, this one-man show is a testament to storytelling and family history.
