Contests & Scholarships
Jenifer students have won many
regional, national and international awards. A complete
web site is set
up for access to the major programs available. In any given
year, more than $100,000 is awarded through these projects.

Gifted Program
The school's gifted program offers many
special activities throughout the year, including preparation
for the PSAT, all of the national and state mathematics
contests, and special scholarships. The gifted program advocates a "revolving door" philosophy that
allows students to work with the school's facilitator on special
topics throughout the year or for a selected period of time.

Mathcounts
The Jenifer
Mathcounts program
is one of the most successful in Idaho. State champions in
1998 and 2005, Jenifer has placed among
the top 4 teams for 7 of the last 8 years. Participation is by
invitation only and requires successful completion of a set of
selection examinations. Students are nominated each spring by
teachers to participate in the Mathcounts talent search.
Selected 7th and 8th graders receive special training in algebra
and geometry and work from August through March of the school
year.

"School on the Road"
Students at Jenifer regularly travel on
well-supervised educational field trips, many of which are based
on special topic such as the history of Lewiston. Teacher
develop interesting activities to accompany the visitations to
various sites.
